Description
The specimen is a circumscribed nodule showing on the outer surface numerous blood vessels; the
cut surface has a yellowish trabeculated appearance in which are several cystic cavities up to 2.5
cm. in diameter. There is an occasional area of haemorrhage. The specimen is not readily
recognisable as coming from thyroid apart from a suggestive of thyroid tissue at the base.
